Chery’s Mobo AI Home Robot Launches 21 October: UK Price, Features and Pre-Orders

Chery-backed AiMOGA will unveil its Mobo AI family robot on 21 October 2026. Here is what UK buyers need to know about features, privacy, pricing and pre-orders.

A robot that remembers your family's routines, recognises objects around the house and holds conversations could soon be available to pre-order. AiMOGA Robotics, the robotics business backed by Chinese carmaker Chery, says its new Mobo family companion humanoid will be unveiled on 21 October 2026, with global pre-orders opening on the same day. But for UK buyers, the most important questions — price, availability and delivery — remain unanswered.

What is the AiMOGA Mobo?

Mobo is a humanoid robot intended for use in family homes rather than a factory or showroom. AiMOGA says it is designed to interact by voice, recognise nearby objects, remember preferences and provide reminders. Its MoAgent AI system is intended to interpret requests, break down multi-step instructions and plan actions. These are the manufacturer's stated capabilities, not findings from an independent home test.

The company says Mobo has a 22-degree-of-freedom motion system to support movement, gestures and demonstrations, alongside spatial perception and obstacle avoidance. It plans to show Mobo in family-companionship and children's learning scenarios at the Chery International User Summit in Wuhu, China.

When can you pre-order Mobo in the UK?

AiMOGA's 17 October announcement specifies 21 October 2026 for the global unveiling and opening of pre-orders. However, the announcement does not list participating countries, so UK pre-order eligibility is not yet confirmed. A global pre-order announcement should not be confused with a confirmed UK retail launch.

UK shoppers should wait for a regional order page or direct confirmation from the manufacturer before paying any deposit. The company has not announced a UK price, sterling conversion, delivery schedule, warranty arrangement or local service network for Mobo in the releases reviewed.

How much will the Mobo robot cost?

No verified UK price has been announced. AiMOGA has not disclosed a retail price or reservation deposit in its 16 and 17 October announcements. Any purported pound price circulating before an official UK listing should be treated cautiously. Import duties, VAT, shipping and repair support could also affect the total cost if Mobo is initially sold across borders.

What can it actually do?

  • Conversation: respond to spoken questions and requests, according to AiMOGA.
  • Recognition: use visual perception to identify objects and understand its surroundings.
  • Memory: retain conversational context and household preferences.
  • Reminders: help keep track of planned activities.
  • Movement: navigate around obstacles and make expressive gestures, according to the company.

Those claims sound promising, but the public announcements do not establish how reliably Mobo performs in a cluttered British home, how long its battery lasts or what happens when the internet connection drops. Independent demonstrations and hands-on testing will matter far more than a polished launch presentation.

The privacy questions families should ask

A home robot equipped with microphones, cameras and memory features introduces different privacy considerations from a conventional smart speaker. Households should establish whether recordings are stored locally or in the cloud, whether memory can be deleted, what parental controls are provided, and whether cameras and microphones can be physically disabled. Guests and children may be recorded or observed without fully understanding the system.

AiMOGA says privacy protection is part of Mobo's design, but buyers should seek a published privacy notice and clear retention controls before relying on that assurance. The UK Information Commissioner's Office provides guidance on data protection risks from connected toys and devices.

Why Chery is entering home robotics

Chery's involvement makes this more than a speculative gadget concept. AiMOGA says it draws on automotive engineering, perception software, manufacturing and supply-chain expertise. The wider AiMOGA portfolio includes robots used in reception, guidance and commercial environments. That background could help the company develop hardware at scale, but experience with commercial robots does not guarantee that a home companion will be affordable, safe or useful.

Should UK buyers be excited?

Mobo is worth watching because it targets a compelling consumer question: can an AI-powered humanoid become genuinely helpful around the home? For now, it is best viewed as an upcoming product announcement rather than a proven household purchase. The key details to look for on 21 October are the actual price, supported countries, shipment dates, repair arrangements, data-handling policy and independent demonstrations of useful tasks.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mobo available to buy in Britain?

Not confirmed. AiMOGA says global pre-orders will open on 21 October 2026, but has not identified UK ordering or delivery arrangements.

Does Mobo clean the house?

The announcements do not establish that it can perform physical household cleaning. Its advertised functions centre on companionship, interaction, recognition, reminders and navigation.

Is Mobo safe for children?

The manufacturer plans child-learning demonstrations, but buyers should wait for detailed safety documentation, supervision guidance and privacy controls before treating it as a children's device.
